THE HUMAN MOTOR is full of fun and engaging activities so your students learn about how our bodies work!

Grab this lesson and printables to teach your students about our bodies. They learn about how the heart, lungs, and stomach work. Students review the letters P, Q, and R as well as the number 8 with several activities to help with the reinforcement of these concepts. They learn to care for their teeth, about eating healthy foods, and the importance of exercise.

Our Teaching Framework is packed with fun and educational activities that will help them learn through the 5 key learning areas, group time, intro to PreK, arts, and crafts, math, science, music, and movement.

Day 1: My Body Machine Day will be a day where we learn about how our bodies work and a few of the organs or parts in them. We will use our lungs for blow painting. We will trace our bodies and glue a few organs in the right spots. We will learn how our heart, lungs, and stomach work and will learn a song about how our bodies work. Students have fun making whole wheat applesauce muffins.

Day 2: Letters P, Q, and R and number 8 Review Day will be a review of the letter and numbers of concepts of the month. We will make the letter box and a letter hide and will complete a review activity sheet. We will play a letter dice game. We will also make a review book and a heart puzzle. The children will play a "Letter of Fortune" game and for a snack, we will make 8-layer bars.

Day 3: Dental Health, we will learn how important it is to take care of our teeth. We will count how many teeth we have and do a dental floss painting activity. For Science, we will make homemade toothpaste and do an egg experiment. The children will learn a brushing song and we will make a tooth necklace.

Day 4: Healthy Food Day will focus on nutrition. We will discuss the four basic food groups and will design our own good food plate. The children will help make a food chart and will learn a food group’s song. For snacks, we will make healthy orange fruit bowls.

Day 5: Kids & Exercise will have the children moving their bodies and learning about the importance of exercise. We will finger-paint to music and examine our heartbeat by taking our pulses. Everyone will join in for a kid aerobics class and for snacks we will make an energy shake.
